The Language Bridge to Management and Beyond

“Those who know nothing of foreign languages know nothing of their own.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Maxims and Reflections

In the Marketplace

In an ever accelerating digital marketplace the need to learn Business English is expected to grow by almost 17% between 2020 and 2025 according to Yahoo Finance. APAC being the biggest segment of for those seeking to strengthen these important skills. Unfortunately the English language learning market is fragmented and is struggling to find solutions to this difficult question. The main struggle seems to be how to bridge inorganic learning with organic learning. But is it the correct solution?

Typical Business Language Strategies

Today English is the lingua franca for most businesses. A majority of companies have adopted language strategies, those who haven't are quickly developing them to compete in the global digital marketplace. The elucidation of these strategies are often lackluster and produce minimal results. Clearly these processes need to be thought out in a more concise manner that will not only benefit the company but the employees as well.

Personal Experience

Tackling the answer to these questions will not be found in a book, podcast, or other materials. This is the job of a Business English Specialist. Generally his or her methods would be to make a personal onsite visit and listen, and observe the entire stratus of the company in it's use of how and where English is used in house. The next step would be to sit down with the owner/CEO and discovering what expectations and results expected, timing, establishing a plan, then with an agreement conducting face to face training and/or online classes for their staff.

The results of this kind of strategy garners everyone involved a much superior solution as it requires the attention of the of the correct kind of professional. Thus it creates a greater bridge for communication not only within the company but beyond as well.
